Talent is one of the fundamental conditions to ascend excellence in competitive sport and its identification is the first step in a long process of specialization that allows us to select the right subjects for our sport.
The previous knowledge of the physical capacities inherent to rowing is decisive in this process and for the talent selection is required, above all, scientific knowledge.
There are two ways for talent identification in sport and are widely used by the main sporting exponents: the prospective and the extensive. The first search puts as many children as possible in contact with the sport and the second one uses methodologies to discover the talents. It is important to determine which one fits best in our context.
